We're a team of people that love to be outdoors. When we're not doing the coffee thing, you'll find at least one of us hiking, snowboarding, wandering, bird watching, or puttering in our gardens. Early in 2022 we started brainstorming a new blend, something to celebrate and hopefully help protect our environment. So in honor of the Vermont state insect, the Monarch Butterfly, we are SO excited to bring you: Monarch Blend! 20% of sales of every bag will go to our local North Branch Nature Center in Montpelier.  I'm going to let them tell you a little about what they do for butterflies and habitats in their own words:

Each September, North Branch Nature Center’s meadow comes alive with asters and goldenrod – and with children swinging nets, intent on carefully catching Monarch butterflies.  The Monarchs are outfitted with tiny stickers before being released back to their amazing 2,500-mile migratory journey to Mexico. Whenever and wherever a tagged butterfly is found, vital data is collected by Monarch Watch. For 30 years this continent-wide Community Science project has helped people understand Monarchs’ life cycle and protect the plants and ecosystems they depend on.

You can help protect Monarchs too, by planting milkweed along your roadside, in your yard, or at your school, and now by enjoying the new Monarch Blend!  With every sip you’ll be supporting Monarch tagging and other NBNC programs connecting people with the natural world.

Just two miles north of downtown Montpelier, Vermont, nestled in a gentle bend of the North Branch of the Winooski River, NBNC’s 28-acre campus is located on the traditional homelands of the Western Abenaki.  There is much to explore: please join us!
