802 Coffee
Ethiopia Natural Yirgacheffe
Boom.
We try to keep a rotation of coffees that has a little something for everybody. Subtle and understated coffees like the Costa Rica Aurora, our deep and bold Zambia, they're all spectacular in their own right. Sometimes you just want something a little more outrageous. Sometimes you want a coffee that hasn't just loosened its tie at the end of the day, you want a coffee that's wearing its tie as a Rambo-style headband and doing the Carlton on the dance floor. This is the coffee.
Those familiar with a natural process Ethiopian coffees won't be surprised to hear that this Yirgacheffe is predominantly fruity. A compote of blueberry, strawberry, and raspberry wash over the pallet. It's a complete and nuanced interplay of flavors and if that was everything this coffee offered it would be enough.
But its not everything. As if it weren't enough to juggle all these delightful fruit notes, the coffee also has a body... oh the body.
It's rich, creamy, thick, and luxurious. And somehow this Yirgacheffe doesn't get lost, it stays focused and clean on the swallow. I'm not sure I've had a coffee that balances such a big and ostentatious body with this refined a finish. It's an impressive high-wire act.
